Building off a classic Mexican molé recipe, we’ve amped up the heat with Scorpions and Ghosts.
With its beautiful and complex mix of flavours and textures, this molé combines cocoa, coffee, cinnamon and coriander and garlic with almonds, peanuts and pumpkin seeds. Blended together, this rich and thick sauce is great for basting any meat. Add in the chocolate varieties of scorpion, ghost and habanero peppers, this sauce's amazing flavours provide a treat on the tongue, then slowly builds the heat in the back of your throat, where it lingers and burns.
Enjoy with a roast, tacos, in chili or on enchiladas. For a hot and cool treat, try some on a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
This sauce does contain nuts: almonds, peanuts and pumpkin seeds.
